https://lazycreekvineyards.com/Lazy Creek Vineyards in Anderson Valley is just off the coastal region of Mendocino County. Blessed with a temperate, cool climate, the valley is classified in viticulture terms as a Region 1 growing area, a designation for the coolest climate in which grapes are commercially grown. The combination of warm, sunny days and foggy nights and mornings allow the grapes to mature slowly to reach their full varietal characteristics.
Lazy Creekâs 95-acre ranch, with its macro-and microclimates and diverse topography and soils, is planted to only 52 acres of grapes. The entire ranch has been sustainably farmed since its beginnings more than 40 years ago, and the winery was recently awarded a sustainable certification by the Certified California Sustainable Winegrowing Alliance.
Don and Rhonda have always believed in allowing the land to speak for itself and guide the winemaking process, with as little intervention as possible. The wines of Lazy Creek Vineyards deliciously reflect this approach of creating the most natural conditions necessary to produce wines that are truly born from the land .
